What Qualifications You Need – Post Wise
PGT (Political Science / Home Science)
You need either:
- Two-year integrated PG from Regional College of Education (NCERT) with 50% marks, OR
- PG with 50% marks + 3-year integrated B.Ed/M.Ed, OR
- Master's degree with 50% in your subject
B.Ed is compulsory – from an NCTE recognized college. CTET or State TET pass is non-negotiable. You must be comfortable teaching in both English and Hindi. Basic computer knowledge is expected – nothing fancy.
TGT (Mathematics / Computer Science)
You need either:
- 4-year integrated degree from Regional College of Education (NCERT) with 50% marks, OR
- PG with 50% + B.Ed/M.Ed (3-year integrated), OR
- Bachelor's degree with 50% in your subject
For Maths specifically: your bachelor's must be in Mathematics with any two of these – Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science, or Statistics.
For Computer Science: BCA, or graduation in CS, or BE/B.Tech in CS/IT, or graduation + 'A' level from DOEACC.
B.Ed from NCTE recognized institute is required. You need a valid CTET or State TET certificate. And you must be comfortable teaching in both English and Hindi. Basic computer skills are a must.
PRT (All Subjects)
You need to be a graduate with 50% marks overall. B.El.Ed. or 2-year D.El.Ed. is required. (If you're already teaching in an Army Public School with B.Ed before 11th August 2023, you can apply – but you'll need to complete NCTE bridge course later.)
