Post Details – Project Associate-I
Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Jorhat has released a notification for the recruitment of Project Associate-I under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) – India sponsored project. The position is based at the North Bengal Regional R&D Centre, Nagrakata, West Bengal.
The project titled “Development of integrated approaches to combat destructive tea gray blight disease in India” is a 3-year research initiative combining pathogen molecular diversity, fungicide sensitivity, microbial antagonists, and virulence factors. Eligible candidates may apply through email before 18th July 2026.
The selected candidate will be engaged in research work related to tea gray blight disease, a destructive disease affecting tea plantations in India. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project period of 3 years.
Essential Qualification
- Option 1: Four-year Bachelor's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, OR
- Option 2: Master's Degree in Life Sciences / Agricultural Sciences / Botany with specialization in Plant Pathology
Desirable Qualification & Experience
- Two years Research Experience in tea pathogens identification or related fields
Job Responsibilities
The Project Associate-I will be responsible for:
- Planning experimental layout
- Conducting field trials against major diseases of tea plantations
- Report preparation
- Data compilation and statistical analysis
- Writing research papers
Monthly Fellowship
- ₹37,000/month + 10% HRA: For candidates with CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or any other National-level examination conducted by Central Govt. Departments
- ₹30,000/month + 10% HRA: For candidates who do not fall under the above category
Age Limit
- Maximum 35 years as on the last date of application
- Age relaxation as per ANRF guidelines
